As you retire, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your incredible support, mentorship, and kindness. Your work in Phonology has been a guiding light, and the depth of knowledge I have gained through your lectures in my first two years at UBC is immeasurable. Every discussion, every insight, and every question you have posed has shaped my understanding in ways I could not have imagined.
Beyond academics, your kindness will forever remain with me. I will never forget how, despite your many responsibilities, you volunteered to pick me up from the Vancouver airport when I first arrived in Canada on September 1, 2023. That simple act of generosity meant the world to me, making my transition to a new country and academic environment smoother and more welcoming.
Your dedication, wisdom, and generosity have left an indelible mark, not just on my academic journey but on my life. Thank you for everything, Prof. Pulleyblank! I wish you a retirement as fulfilling and inspiring as the career you have built.
